Troubled Waters: The Freshwater Crisis in the 21st Century
Life as we know it requires water. At the beginning of the 21st Century we are living in a world experiencing extraordinary environmental stress generated by changes in land use and climate and our insatiable demands for water. We are facing a fresh water crisis right here on the Sunshine Coast — a major issue in recent elections. This course integrates hydrology and the study of the distribution and movement of freshwater around the globe with an understanding of human interaction with freshwater.
