An initial classroom session introduces mushrooms, their biology and where and when to look for them. The focus will be on edible varieties. You will get to practice simple identification methods to recognize which species are edible and which ones to avoid. On each day you will venture out into the woods for hands-on learning and collecting. Bring lunch and a collecting basket or bag. Wear appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear.
