Geology of Thormanby Island
The Thormanby Islands were volcanically formed south of the equator 210 – 252 million years ago and much later surrounded by the Quadra Sands before the last ice age, 25 000 years ago. Geologist Peter Hews will guide us through the “hands on history” of the volcanic bedrock and tectonic collisions evident today.
